Time and again, companies are challenged to align their IT structures with current circumstances, whether due to changing market conditions and customer needs or necessary adjustments within their own organization. The structures of IT systems in companies have often grown historically. Over the course of time, different operational application systems are introduced to meet new requirements. In many cases, these are proprietary solutions that only take into account the interfaces and functional scope of the already existing systems to a limited extent. The result is that a heterogeneous, uncoordinated IT system landscape is created throughout the company, which is very complex and therefore difficult to manage.
When introducing new IT systems or deciding to replace an old IT system, special attention should therefore be paid to the design of the entire IT system landscape - especially with regard to its optimization.
With our approach to designing your IT system landscape, we support you in developing the appropriate target system landscape for your company. Based on the status quo of your system technology support, we develop a roadmap with concrete implementation projects that enable you to realize your target state in a coordinated, efficient manner.
As part of the analysis, the foundations are laid for successful project implementation. To this end, we perform a site classification and examine the relevant business processes of the sites. In this way, differences in process standardization within the company can already be identified. In the next step, we work with you to examine the IT systems in use and detail the company-wide picture of existing IT support. At the end of the analysis phase, a map of the IT systems used in the company is created and, based on this, the expectations and requirements for a future, competitive IT system landscape are recorded.
Based on the expectations and requirements identified during the analysis, we develop user stories together with the employees involved in the project. Together with the target process design and the gap analysis, we then concretize the technical system support of the processes in a target image. A structured satisfaction survey of the relevant key users of the current systems provides further input for the target picture.
We work with you to derive implementation measures from the user stories and the resulting target picture. These measures are then prioritized and sequenced in a roadmap. This provides your company with a concrete approach for homogenizing the IT system landscape, which enables the structured handling of digitization topics in order processing.
